Getting Ready, Making Plans, Killing Microbes
I happen to be on a course of strong antibiotics which will finish en route, so I'll step into South Africa with a clean gut, mostly free of those Western diet bacteria. My intestinal tract will serve as a welcoming host to the dirt from the lands of the origins of man. The bacteria of those fresh vegetables, legumes, and cultured and fermented foods are going to enjoy a new home in my gut, and in return I'll be that closer to my body functioning as it was designed.
I also plan to get a haircut and jump in a shark cage after chumming for great whites.
Beth is going to run run run, and we'll hike together up Table Mountain.
Other plans include wine, coffee, photos, food, and relaxation. Should be easy!
This is what the New York Times recommends for those with a weekend in Cape Town. I copied the pic above from that article.
